Grier Heights
East Charlotte at 300 Orange Street

Welcome to Grier Heights! Located in between Monroe Rd., Wendover, and Randolph on the East side of town, near the Bojangles Coliseum. It is a traditionally African-American community.

Most of our students in this neighborhood go to Alexander Graham Middle School, which feeds into Myers Park High School. Our younger students attend Billingsville Elementary School. Cross Roads Corporation has blessed us with a house in the community where 2 Charlotte Eagles live and are constantly accessible to the boys.

The house is located at 300 Orange St. and serves as a home base for much of what we do in the community. The boys enjoy playing soccer very much, but the Urban Eagles are much more than just a soccer team.

As a team we have a goal in the neighborhood to start a Revolution for Jesus by being Rebels for Christ. This follows the core values of the coaches: “LOVE is our motivation, DISCIPLESHIP is our method, and EMPOWERMENT is our goal.” There is much going on in the Grier Heights Community, and much to be involved in!

Our activities include weekly soccer practice/Bible study/dinner on Tuesdays from 5-8pm, Thursday tutoring from 4:30-5:30pm, Wednesday basketball practice from 5-7, and monthly soccer tournaments on Saturdays.

There are a few avenues to serve the Urban Eagles in Grier Heights… By providing a meal to our weekly dinner on Tuesdays, by tutoring in elementary students on Thursday afternoons, or by volunteering with our basketball ministry on Wednesday evenings during the winter.
