As the back-up keeper to 2008 Goalkeeper of the Year Terry Boss (now with the New York Red Bulls) Kevin Trapp came to the Eagles in his first season in 2008 and challenged Boss every day for the starting position in training as the Eagles possessed two of the best keepers in the USL-2.

Trapp is a graduate of James Madison University where he finished his collegiate career with 26 shutouts.

Before coming to Charlotte, Trapp started for the USL-2 Western Mass Pioneers  in 2007 and lead the league in minutes. Trapp started in the USL-2 Championship Final for the Eagles in 2008 and will look to lead the team as its starter in 2009.
