Charlotte, NC
The Charlotte Eagles will continue their 2009 season as they host the Pittsburgh Riverhounds this Friday, May 29th at Charlotte Christian School. The match will kick-off at 7 pm. The Riverhounds and Eagles are currently tied for seventh in the USL-2 standings with 5 points each.
Charlotte comes into the match with a 1-3-2 record on the season, while Pittsburgh will bring a 1-2-2 record into the contest. The series has a history of tough, competitive matches. The teams played twice in 2008 with the Eagles tying the Riverhounds 2-2 in their first encounter in Charlotte, and winning 2-1 later in the season in Pittsburgh.
Eagles General Manager Tom Engstrom noted, “Pittsburgh is a quality team. Last year they played us about as well as anyone at home. The league is extremely competitive from top to bottom this year. It is still early but this is an important game for both teams.”
