(E. Hampstead, NH) The Charlotte Eagles played the second of a two game New England road trip tonight facing the New Hampshire Phantoms. Jacobs Coggins scored two goals and one assist to lead Charlotte to a 3-2 victory. Danny Harvey had the first goal for Charlotte and also assisted on the second goal.
Despite being the second match in two nights for Charlotte, the Eagles controlled the tempo of tonight's match in New Hampshire. Waxhaw, NC native Danny Harvey scored the opening goal for Charlotte in the 30th minute. The goal came off the corner kick which was collected by Jacob Coggins. Coggins touched a pass over to Harvey and Harvey finished it for the 1-0 lead from about 8 yards out.
Six minutes later Charlotte extended their lead to two goals, and it was Coggins and Harvey doing the damage once again. Charlotte moved the ball into the New Hampshire end with crisp passing. Jacob Coggins played the ball forward for Danny Harvey who played it back onto the run of Coggins. Coggins scored with a solid shot to the upper corner from 18 yards out. That goal finished up the first half scoring as Charlotte entered halftime with a 2-0 lead.
Jacob Coggins scored his second goal of the match in the 68th minute. This time it was Ross Spencer setting up the goal. Spencer beat his defender and darted down the right flank. Spencer served it into the box for Coggins who put it away with proper placement.
The New Hampshire Phantoms finally worked their way onto the scoreboard in the 83rd minute, capitalizing on a corner kick. McNeil served the ball in to Fernandez who scored from 8 yards out.
In the final minute of play the Phantoms scored the final goal of the match when New Hampshire was awarded a penalty kick. Barbose took the penalty kick for New Hampshire to cut the Eagles' lead to one goal. The match ended in a 3-2 victory for Charlotte to cap off the road trip with two wins.
