(Charlotte, NC) - The Charlotte Eagles and Lady Eagles take to the field Saturday night at their home field, Waddell Stadium. The Lady Eagles host the Hampton Roads Piranhas at 5:30pm and the Eagles pro team will host the undefeated Cleveland City Stars at 8:00 pm. The day will kick off with the Charlotte Eagles Soccer Jam, a FREE soccer festival for all kids under 18, beginning at 1:30 pm. Charlotte Lady Eagles vs. Hampton Roads
The Charlotte Lady Eagles are pushing toward the W-League playoffs, a tournament they have participated in every season since their inception in 2000. Charlotte currently sits in fourth place in the W-League Central Conference Atlantic Division with a record of 4-2-1, for 13 points, and will need a strong finish to claim their spot in the playoffs. Charlotte is even in points with third place Cocoa Expos and two points behind first and second place teams Richmond and Atlanta. The Lady Eagles will play host to the Hampton Roads Piranhas on Saturday night, with at 5:30 pm kickoff at Waddell Stadium. Hampton Roads in currently in fifth position in the Atlantic Division with a record of 2-4-0, for 6 points. This is the first time for Charlotte and Hampton Roads to pair up this season. The teams will play again in Hampton Roads on July 14th. The Lady Eagles won one and lost one against Hampton Roads last season.
Charlotte Eagles vs. Cleveland City Stars
The Charlotte Eagles pro team currently sits atop the USL Second Division, but they have played two more games than the undefeated Richmond Kickers, and three more games than the undefeated Cleveland City Stars. Charlotte's record is 8-3-0 for 24 points. Saturday night's match is a big one for Charlotte, facing newcomer to the league, the Cleveland City Stars. Cleveland has had a very strong inaugural season and have yet to get the taste of a loss, but Cleveland has not played Richmond or Charlotte so far. Charlotte fans may recognize two Cleveland faces out on the field Saturday night. Former Charlotte Eagles veteran midfielder Chris Lemons and former Charlotte forward Anthony Stovall are both playing with Cleveland this season. They have each scored one goal, and have considerable playing time for Cleveland this season. Charlotte veterans Jacob Coggins and Dustin Swinehart are one and two respectively at the top of the USL Second Division points leader board.

The Charlotte Eagles and Lady Eagles partnered with Charlotte Radiology, Charlotte Magazine, 107.9 the Link, and Mary Kay to bring you Kick for the Cure Night last weekend. Eagles and Lady Eagles players wore Special Edition Pink Jersey during their games. The Special Edition Pink Jerseys are being auctioned off online with all proceeds going to support Komen for the Cure, a foundation dedicated to the fight against breast cancer.
