Eagles Home Open Cup Match - Tuesday, June 12 - 7:30pm at UNC-Charlotte

Charlotte Eagles Face Bermuda and Baltimore on the Road

The Charlotte Eagles pro soccer team hopes to stay atop the USL-2 standings with two road games this week.   The Eagles face the Bermuda Hogges on Wednesday, June 6th and Crystal Palace Baltimore on Saturday, June 9th.  Charlotte currently leads the USL-2 league standings with a record of 6-2-0, for 18 points and forward Jacob Coggins stands comfortably at the top of the league scoring statistics with 9 goals and a total of 21 points.

Charlotte vs. Bermuda - June 6th

The Bermuda Hogges is the first and only professional franchise based in Bermuda, and 2007 is the teams inaugural season in the United Soccer Leagues.   The Eagles have yet to face USL-2 newcomer, but they'll get their chance on Wednesday night in Bermuda.  Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm EST at the National Stadium.    Bermuda has played just three games so far this season, suffering back to back 1-0 home losses to Harrisburg to open the season.   Last time out the Hogges tied the Kings 1-1 in Bermuda.  The Bermuda team is comprised of a core of the Bermuda National team excluding prospective and current college players and elite professional players playing at a higher level.

Charlotte Eagles vs. Crystal Palace Baltimore - June 9th

The Charlotte Eagles opened their 2007 season hosting another USL-2 newcomer, Crystal Palace Baltimore, resulting in a 4-1 win for Charlotte.   Crystal Palace had a dismal start to their season, losing its first four matches.  Baltimore has turned things around, going undefeated in its past three matches.  Crystal Palace defeated the Wilmington Hammerheads 3-0 and then tied their last two matches including a 1-1 tie to the 2006 League Champion Richmond Kickers in Richmond.   The Eagles will face Crystal Palace once again on June 9th, this time in Baltimore.  Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm.

Two Game Florida Road Trip Ahead for Lady Eagles

The Charlotte Lady Eagles hope to get back to their winning ways this week with a two game road trip in Florida.   The Lady Eagles started out the season strong with a 3-0 win over Atlanta and a 2-1 win at Fredericksburg, but Charlotte struggled through their past two games losing to Richmond and Atlanta.  This week's two-game road trip begins on June 7th at 7:30 pm when the Lady Eagles will take on the Cocoa Expos for the first time this season.  Charlotte wraps up the trip on Saturday, June 9 th at Bradenton.   The Bradenton Athletics have had a rough start with three losses in three games.  One of those losses was a 1-0 loss to the Cocoa Expos in the Expos only match so far.
