(Charlotte, NC) - The Charlotte Eagles and Lady Eagles return to home field action on Saturday night in another doubleheader evening of Charlotte Eagles soccer. Saturday is also Scouts Night with the Charlotte Eagles. Boys Scouts and Girls Scouts are encouraged to get their tickets at the discounted Scouts Group rate and join us for an exciting evening of soccer action. The doubleheader evening will kick off at 5:30pm when the Charlotte Lady Eagles host the Cocoa Expos. The Eagles pro team match will follow at 8:00pm when Charlotte hosts the Harrisburg City Islanders.
Charlotte Lady Eagles vs. Cocoa Expos
The Charlotte Lady Eagles hope to keep their playoff hopes alive with a strong performance on Saturday night. The Lady Eagles will be hosting the Cocoa Expos at Waddell Stadium at 5:30pm. Charlotte has had three straight wins since the last time it played to a 0-0 tie against the Expos in Florida back on June 7 th. The Lady Eagles, at 16 points, are currently one point behind the Cocoa Expos in the W-League standings, but Charlotte has played one less game. A win for Charlotte on Saturday would move the Lady Eagles into third place in the W-League Central Conference Atlantic Division. Richmond and Atlanta hold the top two spots in the division with 21 points each.
Eagles Pro Team vs. Harrisburg City Islanders
The Charlotte Eagles, currently sitting in second place in the USL-2 at 9-3-1, for 28 points, will host the Harrisburg City Islanders at 8pm Saturday night. The Eagles were defeated by the City Islanders, 4-3 in Harrisburg back on May 5th. At that time the Eagles were without Jamal Sutton who scored one of the two goals against Wilmington last week, and without central midfielder Joseph Kabwe. The City Islanders are currently in the fourth position in the USL-2 and will be hungry for another victory in the hopes of remaining fourth or better to make the playoffs.
