When the Siskey YMCA opens their spring soccer season with its first skills day, the kids and their families will be seeing plenty of orange and royal throughout the day. The Charlotte Eagles will be making their first appearance of 2008 as they run the skills day for Siskey YMCA.
The appearance is the first of many at Siskey YMCA as part of the Eagles' strengthened partnership with the YMCA. The day will include skills sessions for all of the league's age groups and training sessions for the coaches. Heading up the day's events will be former MLS #1 Draft Pick and current Eagles midfielder Steve Shak. In addition to playing, Shak in his second season with Charlotte's professional soccer club, will again be doing double duty as an assistant coach to USL Hall of Fame coach Mark Steffens.
The Eagles are just one month from pre-season training camp and two months from opening the USL-2 regular season against Bermuda on April 19th at UNC Charlotte's TransAmerica Field. All remaining games will be played at the Eagles new home at Charlotte Christian Stadium in South Charlotte. 2008 Season Ticket Packages are already moving fast as the excitement builds for the Eagles' move back to the Matthews/South Charlotte area. Registration has already begun as well for Charlotte's largest and most distinct youth soccer camp program, Charlotte Eagles "Learn From The Pros" summer soccer camps.
