TOURNAMENT RULES:
Age groups are based on the age delineations from this past NCYSA spring club season
All teams will play a minimum of 3 games
All games will consist of 2 equal halves comprising 10 minutes each
There will be a 2 minute half-time for each game
- Goals can only be scored from a teams' attacking half of the field
- All balls played out over the sidelines will be restarted with a kick-in (a goal cannot be scored directly from a kick-in)
- No Goalkeepers are used in the games (3v3 field players)
- Each goal will have a clearly defined zone (approximately 1 yard in diameter) in which players are not allowed to enter (i.e. the "crease" in hockey)
*If a defender is in the crease and stops a shot on goal, the attacking team will be given a penalty shot from the penalty spot (12 yards)
*If an attacking player makes contact with the ball while it or he/she is in the crease, it is an indirect free kick from the spot of the foul for the defending team
*If a ball stops completely in the crease and is no longer rolling at all, the defending team is allowed to go in and bring the ball out to continue play
- The off-sides rule is NOT in effect during the 3v3 Cup
- Substitutions can be made on any dead ball (start of a half, corner kick, goal kick, throw-in, or restart after a goal is scored)
- Goal kicks are taken from the end line near the goal itself as there is not a six yard box in the tournament
