GIRLS DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE (GDL) | Entry Level (Ages 7-10)

The Eagles GDL program is designed to provide a clear pathway for girls to be introduced to the game of soccer and grow within an environment that is enjoyable, developmentally appropriate, and team centered. Our focus is to create an age and skill appropriate playing opportunity that will develop the individual player and build a strong team and club culture.

One of the most exciting parts of the GDL is what happens when our girls come together. While players will train locally at their home campus during the week, all GDL games will be played at our Matthews location — bringing girls from across the Eagles family onto one field. More teammates. More connections. A stronger, shared Eagles identity built from the very first season.

OUR VISION is bigger than one field. As the GDL grows, the goal is for each campus to host its own game days — building thriving girls programs at Waxhaw and University too. Matthews is where we start together. The rest is what we're building toward.

Two levels of play. Players are evaluated for team placement through the tryout process.

Note for U12 Girls: Heading into Fall 2026, U12 girls will enter through the tryout process — this will be the primary playing option available at that age group.
