Frequently Asked Questions

What sets your club apart, and in what ways does it operate as a Christian club?

  • Charlotte Eagles operate under the banner of Missionary Athletes International (MAI).

  • MAI is a gospel-centered ministry that aims to glorify God and transform lives by introducing people to Jesus Christ, teaching them to follow Him, and empowering them as leaders through the global environment of soccer.

  • Charlotte Eagles apply the MAI mission statement through Discipleship Curriculum and Sports Ministry Training. Team Prayer, Daily Devotionals, and Season long conversation topics, all Biblically based.

  • You do not have to believe what we believe to belong with us. You just need to know what we do and how we go about it with our teams.

Can our son play high school soccer, and would MLS NEXT AD affect his middle school soccer commitments?

  • Yes, Charlotte Eagles support school soccer participation. MLS NEXT AD and NAL allow player participation in both club and school.

  • The Charlotte Eagles are committed to supporting the participation of school soccer, while we ask that players who have conflicts work to uphold their commitment to the club and team. Conflicts for games are understood.

Do tryout participants need to attend both dates for tryouts?

  • Yes, it is always helpful to see players on both dates, in order to provide the best possible evaluation.

What are the total costs associated with the program?

  • All costs associated with programming are rolled into one fee. See age and program specific pricing HERE

What options are available if my player does not make MLS NEXT or NAL?

How will we receive communication and updates regarding tryouts from the club?

  • All tryout communication will be handled through our registration platform, PlayMetrics. All families should confirm their personal information online.

  • Post tryout offers will be communicated within 48 hours of finals tryout for each age group.

How will we receive communication and updates throughout the season from the club?

  • All team communication throughout the season will be managed through PlayMetrics. Directors, Coaches and Team Managers will have direct access to all families on their teams.

Do players need to register for multiple tryouts, and is there a separate fee for each one?

  • Once registered for tryouts, you are in the system and will be considered for any teams within your age group.

  • Example: A current Blue Waxhaw/University/Matthews player would like to tryout for MLS NEXT AD/NAL, but doesn’t make the teams; that player will be considered for the local Blue team.

What happens if my player is unable to attend the scheduled tryout date?

  • Unfortunately, this makes it hard to evaluate properly.

  • Supplemental tryouts may happen in a later date, age/level specific.

  • Current Eagles players will be considered for teams based off coach evaluations, and prior season performance. Must be registered for tryouts online.
